Com Dev wins MDA contract for satellite components

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) has awarded Com Dev International a contract for satellite components. Com Dev will build and deliver Ku-band and Ka-band multiplexers, switches and microwave components that MDA will use to build a multi-band communications satellite.

MDA issued $5.1 million alongside its authorization for Com Dev to proceed with the order. The initial funding will pay for engineering and procurement activities.

According to Com Dev, it expects the contract is be worth more than $11 million. And that’s not counting the option for a replacement flight set, which will add more than $10 million to the original contract.
